We were supposed to go to Lake Powell and San Diego in end of June/July, but what a crazy trip that turned into. We flew out of Knoxville and it started out bad from the beginning. Our flight attendants were late (or on mandatory rest) so our 1st flight was delayed, but we thought we'll still be ok and called the airlines to check. But when we got to Phoenix we found out that the airplane to Page, Az air conditioner broke so they wouldn't let people go out. They weren't even sure if the plane would be fixed the next day so we didn't want to plan on doing that and have wasted more days. Then we thought maybe we can drive the rest of the way, well no because none of the rental car places allow you to return a car in the small town of Page, Az. It was just all too much and everything was falling OUT of place. We were all crying and upset. Kevin was on the phone with the airlines and that was pointless. We finally decided just to use our own money to book a new flight straight to San Diego and at least get some sort of vacation. But then the last flight out to San Diego that day was departing soon and the line at the booking counter was miles long because there were so many cancellations due to heat in Phoenix. Then we thought oh my if we buy a new flight and then it ends up being cancelled we will be CRUSHED. We ended up getting the flight, but we had to hurry to our gate. We still had to change the boys so I ran in the bathroom with them while Kevin went to the gate. They were doing final boarding so Kevin ran over to us and told us to run out. I put Jack's diaper on, but no pants and we ran onto the flight. Phew! It was crazy. We didn't even get to sit together. I had Jack and Kevin had Wyatt, but luckily it wasn't a very long flight and when we made it to San Diego it was a great feeling. Now we had to get a rental car and try to get into my parents house while they weren't there, they were in Lake Powell waiting for us!! They were so sad we didn't make it out and actually cut their trip a little bit short. But we were all determined to still have a good time despite the trials!!
Since my parents weren't there we got to hang out and have dinner with Cece and Bob which was really fun. After dinner we decided to go to the mall and we rode the cute train. It was so much fun. Kevin and Wyatt were in the front and me, cece, bob, and jack jammed into another car. Jack was so cute and waved to everyone out the window.
We ended up being able to go to Sea World twice. We touched Dolphins and did a lunch with Shamu program and it was pretty neat. The boys love Sea World!! The second time we were able to go with grandma and Cece and Kat and Jeff and Shannon and family. Wyatt and Jack and Tayson had a great time using the water guns to splash people on the water rides. He even got to splash Dad. Then at the end of the day we decided to do Atlantis and you get a little wet, well I saw Wyatt at the bottom and started waving and they totally DRENCHED us, it was too funny! Another day we went to a waterpark which was fun, but more for older kids. We did find some fun slides that the boys liked. We got to go to the park and hang out with grandpa and grandma, and play in the little pool in gma and gpas backyard. On fourth of July Cece and Bob threw a big pool party and everyone came. It was a blast and all the kids loved swimming in the pool. Wyatt didn't want to get out. His favorite thing was jumping in and people catching him. We also got to spend more time with Mema and Jeff and Amy and the kids and Jill and Tyler also came out. They came to the pool party and then we also got to have a beach day with them. Everyone boogy boarded a bunch and it was so fun. All the kids played like crazy and built big holes and that Jack and Wyatt loved. Then we went back to their house and had dinner and hung out. We always have a good time hanging with the Allreds. We were sad to leave, but had another great vacation in San Diego!!
