Virginia

We are going to really miss this area of Virginia that we have been able to spend three years exploring. We have done so many fun things here, but one of our most favorite things to do has been going boating on the James River and going to the "gravel pit". We went there this weekend for probably our last time. We have loved spending time in our old little boat out on the water just enjoying the beauty that is here in Virginia. I remember the first time we went we were blown away by how green it was (we are used to lakes in brown deserts) and we wanted to come back. We brought Wyatt when he was about 5 months and Jack had his first trip this weekend (just under 3 months old) and they have both loved it (sort of) lol. Today Wyatt loved throwing the sand and exploring the beach (the water was pretty chilly), and I remember last year he used to love when I would take him out in the warm water in the summer. Jack did not like the life jacket at all, but otherwise he did well. We will really miss this place!

Other happenings:
Went to the drive-in a few weeks ago for The Lorax and John Carter. Wyatt loved it when he was watching the Lorax. He thought it was the coolest thing and would just randomly break out in laughter. Luckily he feel asleep at the beginning of the 2nd movie so we stayed and watched while the boys slept. I love the drive-in for bringing kids to movies, it's great!!

We actually had a mini-drive in movie night at our friends' (the robinsons) property. That was a fun time too. Wyatt was watching the planes go by overhead with the blinking lights; he would point and say "huh".  Then he noticed the stars and we think he thought they were also all airplanes and just kept saying "huh, huh, huh". It was pretty funny, but got annoying after a while.

Jack loves to "talk" to us. He makes cute little cooing sounds and even seems to almost laugh when he smiles sometimes. It is so cute. He is getting so big and it's weird that he won't be a baby forever. He still wakes up every couple of hours at night to eat. He is eating about 4-5 oz at at time which is pretty good, but much less than Wyatt was, lol. He is an easy baby and doesn't cry much, but hates to be poopy and does like to be held at times which we love!

Wyatt had his 18 month check up and he weighs about 28 lbs and 33 inches, still in the 80-90th percentile. He sat there so good and calm while the DR examined him. He had to get one shot and he flinched, but didn't even cry. He is such a big boy! Wyatt loves to pray lately. He is very good at folding his arms and bowing his head and waiting until we say amen. He is also very good at imitating us and other people lately. It is so cute and funny. He can usually point to his nose, ears, and eyes when we ask him. He loves to throws balls and I started saying "one, two, three... throw" and now he tries to say it in his baby talk way. He is such a silly kid that loves to be outside exploring and throwing balls, dirt and rocks. I guess we have a true blue boy on our hands!

Kevin graduates from VCU dental school in three weeks- crazy. then we are off to Big Stone Gap, Va. We are getting very very excited, but sad to leave some of our wonderful friends here in Richmond.
