Wyatt Birthday Updates!

What Wyatt has been up to lately:

*He now dances to music. This kid seriously loves music- we found this awesome kids mp3/boombox for christmas.

*He stands and cruises up on everything.

*He crawls really fast when he wants something.

*Follows around the dogs- when they go outside he stands at the back glass door and yells at them; he also hugs and kisses them A LOT.

*Is getting a little more independent and will sit and play in his room for a little while.

*Wants everything we have- especially if it is food.

*He is so silly and will laugh at everything; still loves peekaboo

*Likes to play "I'll fall backwards and you catch me"- (can get scary lol)

*Still only has 2 teeth on bottom, but they are getting big

*Likes to throw things into the tub

*I think he has learned the art of flirting. The first incident was at Red Lobster where he was being silly and smiling at the waitresses who were watching him. The second was when he was in his stroller next to VCU and every time someone would walk by and look at him he was give them the biggest cheesiest grinny smile ever. It was cracking me up. He is such a silly and sweet kid.

I wrote these a few weeks ago, since then he is able to take a few steps back and forth between people catching him. He then starts to laugh and giggle and throws himself at us and can't do it anymore.

One year stats at the Dr:

I think he now has learned the doctor is not fun; he started crying even before the shots this time when the Dr. was poking and prodding him. It was sad.

We had Wyatt's first birthday party with some friends and grandma and grandpa Dunlap were in town. It was great! We decorated as a dog theme. I got a bunch of stuff from the dollar store: dog bowls (to put dog bone breadsticks in), stuffed dogs, dog toys, and dog balloons. We also made two doghouses, and Deborah made the best doggie cake. It turned out great. Wyatt got tons of fun presents from all of our generous friends and family. He ate his cake so cute! He started off just really dainty and picked off some things on the top and then we helped him dig in a little more. He had a great time playing with all his friends that came too. His one friend Naomi was reaching up to him while he was eating cake and Wyatt was throwing cake down to her and she was eating it. It was pretty funny! My parents were only able to stay for a few days, but we had a great time just playing with Wyatt and getting ready for his birthday. Wyatt loved hanging out with them, he fell asleep on both of them (which he never does with us). He loved grandma being silly and teaching him silly things too, and he liked to swing with grandpa on our outdoor chair swing. Since the party was on Friday, on Wyatt's actual bday Saturday we got to relax, do a little shopping and take Wyatt to the park since he loves swings. Then we went to Red Lobster and got him hopped up on ice cream so he didn't go to bed until like 10pm. Oooops! We had a great time and can't wait for Christmas.

I can't believe Wyatt is already one! He is growing up too fast, but he is the best little boy ever. WE love him so much and couldn't have asked for a better son. I love seeing him grow and develop and learn new things every day. He makes us smile and laugh every day. I can already see how he is going to be a great kid and impact many people for good.
