Christmas Updates

We had a wonderful time over our christmas break. Wyatt went on his first plane ride first to San Diego to stay with my parents. We thought we might get some sunshine, but it was a torrential downpour the whole time we were there. My mom threw a BIG Christmas party so we were able to see everybody and it was so nice. Everyone was able to gush over the baby and he did great! He was a perfect angel on all of the plane rides which made it really nice and he wasn't really thrown off by the time change too much. Kevin was able to spend a few days in his brother jeff"s dental office and he had an awesome time assisting and observing. Jeff and Amy watched the baby while we went to Disneyland one day- we had fun, but had to cut the day a little short because of rain. I had some lunches with some family friends Michelle and Shondell and then with some high school friends. We were also able to go up to Temecula and see our dear friends the Nilsens which is always a highlight. Of course I did a little shopping with my mom and sister and we got to go out to eat at some of our favorite places including rubios and fish house. After enjoying time with my family and some friends we were able to take my mom's car and drive up to Utah to stay with Kevin's mom. We had a couple more fun parties to attend and other people that were dying to see Wyatt. The Helms had a crazy extended family party in which adult musical chairs was played. Wow, was that crazy. Kevin won, but there was a lot of pushing and shoving in the process, but so hilarious. It was so great to see everyone in Utah. All of our little nieces and nephews are so cute and are growing up way too fast. Other highlights of our trip were snowmobiling which was ridiculously crazy. Basically Bob led half of our group up a HUGE hill that we weren't supposed to go up. Bob made it up, BUT.... not many others did. About 3 people got stuck and my sister and mom actually flipped and their snowmobile started smoking!! Pretty scary! The guide was soooo mad, he thought we were the group from H****, I'm sure. Another fun part of our trip was blessing Baby Wyatt. Of course he was a perfect angel during the blessing and Kevin gave a wonderful blessing. We were able to use my dad's Christening outfit that he wore and it looked so cute so that was really cool. We all went back to Farrell's house afterwards and it was such a nice day. We are so lucky to have such a sweet, happy adorable baby. He loves to babble and smile at us, and others too. He likes to make us smile and laugh just as much as we like to make him smile and laugh. He started doing this new thing where he screeches and giggles. I think his loud dad taught him that! He likes music and lights and still likes to be held, but also is content a lot of the time on his back kicking his legs away. He is such a joy in our home! The dogs are getting more aware that he really is a human, lol, and they seem to be understanding that they need to be careful around him. At his two month doctors appointment he weighed 12.5 lbs and was in the 75 percentile for weight and height. His next appointment isn't until he is 4 months. As for Kevin and I, I am getting used to staying home, but we are realizing how good it is for the baby that I am able to stay home with him. Kevin is busy with school again, and we are both busy with our church callings: scouts and primary. It is freezing here right now and we can't wait for it to warm up so we can go back out camping and boating.
