First, Grandma Michelle came out to visit. We got to play a lot and go to the park and ride bikes. Wyatt got to show grandma how well he is doing on his bike. Then we went to Gatlinburg and stayed in a great place. We finally took gma to the Dixie Stampede show. Then the next day we visited Dollywood and then before gma left we got to visit the waterpark at our resort. The boys had a great time. Dollywood was tons of fun. Kevin and I decided to get season passes and we were in line to get grandma's ticket and some nice man gave us his extra ticket for free. That was a great start to our day. Of course Jack loved the car ride and Wyatt likes the "little rollercoaster". We rode lots of kiddie rides and got good food and lots of treats! I have heard the shows are pretty good at Dollywood, but we hadn't been to one yet. It was international festival at Dollywood so we saw the African Acrobat/Dancers. It was really good and entertaining. They did lots of cool stunts and tricks. We were pretty tired and started to fall asleep towards the end, but it really was an impressive show. The water park was a hit also! It was the same one we went to with Kevin around Valentines Day. It isn't as crowded as Wilderness of the Smokies and I think it has more for little kids. They enjoyed the slides and just swimming around and the lazy river. Wyatt has been swimming around very well by himself with his life jacket and also getting more comfortable without it. He really enjoyed being able to swim around in the big pools. The boys had a blast swimming with grandma and jumping into the pool to her. We were sad to see grandma go home later that afternoon. We had such a fun weekend and did so much. We were worn out. Unfortunately her plane got delayed until the next morning, but she made it home ok.
Then Farrell (Mema) came to visit also. We were able to spend some days at the house playing again. The boys had a great time showing her all their toys and running around. We then drove to Charlottesville and Williamsburg to see Amber and the kids. They had just moved to Boston at the beginning of the year and it was exciting to see them now on the east coast. First we met up in Charlottesville at Monticello. We had a lovely warm day and walked around the whole area and did a house tour. It really was beautiful and really made me interested in learning more and more about Thomas Jefferson. We bought some books so that we could learn more about him and his time in Monticello. The kids had a ball running around all the gardens and we saw some neat things like where the slaves lived, his huge library, and the clock he made at his house. Amber and Ryan were great and let us use their timeshare. The kids loved playing with all their cousins. They all layed on the fold out bed and watched movies late into the night. They also loved playing ninja outside. We were able to go into Williamburg and see some of the fun things. We decided to do Jamestown since they had a mixture of things. The place was neat, it was like a living history place where there were actors and rebuilt structures just like in the colonial times. There was an Indian Village that was interesting and the kids liked going in the huts and seeing all the animal furs and the beds and we were trying to figure out how they made things like rope etc. There was also a big ship that all the kids loved. We had great weather and we all had a blast. Mema really enjoyed being able to see all the kids interact. Wyatt really played well with Michael and Daniel. Jack and Andrew are still a little bit small and fought some, lol. All the kids were great and the adults stayed up talking and we were worn out again. Mema drove back to our house with us and stayed a day or two and then she flew home. It was so fun having her and being able to show her what the boys do day to day. They love having her and we love when she cooks for us.
