Spring Getaway- NYC and PA

I can't believe how much we have done this year. It is pretty crazy. To start the summer off we took a trip to NYC and Pennsylvania in late May. We were meeting up with Kevin's sister, but on the way we couldn't pass up the opportunity to stop for a day in NYC and show the boys the "big city". Kevin and I have been there in 2008 and loved it and did a lot. This time was definitely different with kids, but we had a great time. We stayed at a hotel in New Jersey and were able to park our car their for free and leave it while we were in the city. It was actually our anniversary that day so that worked out!! We took the train into the city super early in the morning because we wanted to make the most of the day an not be out too late. We went to Times Square and we were there so early that almost nothing was open. We got something to eat and then walked around. We were peeking into the different morning talk shows that were on and then we noticed that Phillip Phillips was on GMA. I am a fan, especially since he won American Idol, which I am also a huge fan of. There were some people watching, but not a ton so we were able to get up to the glass and see in. Wyatt was on Kevin's shoulders and was on TV a bunch just swaying to the music. It was so funny. I saw my arms on the TV too. We told my mom and she recorded the whole thing that morning. Well that was the first of our fun NYC things to do! Our other NYC adventures consisted of Grand Central Station, the big toy store, and a cruise around the harbor where we got to see the Statue of Liberty. The boys really had a great time. Wyatt especially enjoyed the "big city". They loved all the big buildings, the subway, and all the fun things. Jack was a little fussy/tired toward the end of the day and we had to strap him into our little stroller while he was flailing around and screaming. I'm sure all the people walking past us loved that. It was a big nerve racking in the subways with the kids, they usually won't hold hands, but I told them in NYC we HAVE to hold hands some times. We had a fun and tiring day and took the train back to New Jersey and made our way over to the countryside of PA to meet up with Kevin's sister. We got a nice condo for cheap in the Poconos in PA. We were able to hang out a lot with the family and all of wyatt and jack's cousins. They had a blast of course. The kids played a lot of board games with Kevin and we went on a few little adventures to explore the outdoors. We went to the pool a lot and played mini golf at the hotel. It was a great little trip.
