Easter with the Hardimans

Spring is finally here! I thought we had avoided the winter sickness but we got it in March. We were all sick on my birthday, but I thought I could still sneak in a shopping trip and dinner. It was nice, but I sort of regretted it the next day being even more sick. Kevin finished the chicken coop and all the birds are doing good, but it's a lot of work. A week before Easter we went and did the Big Stone Gap egg hunt and saw the easter bunny. It was a pretty nice event, even though it was cold. There were a lot of kids and there were some intense parents. Jack got a few eggs and Wyatt got a good amount and they both were happy and had a lot of fun. Of course they got lots of candy and Wyatt was always asking for it so we gave him some and got rid of the rest, lol, (poor dentist's child). Wyatt got to play on the huge slide at the park too which was probably his favorite part. We went to breakfast at Mutual Drug afterwards.

 For Easter weekend our amazing friends, the Hardimans came to visit. It was so nice to see them and catch up and just relax. They came in late Friday, then Saturday morning we went to the "Animal Swap" in Kingsport. We wanted to sell some of our quail and it is always fun to see all the animals people are selling, and Kevin is always looking for more good egg laying chickens. Kim and Wayne were such good sports about coming with us and helping us out.  We are so lucky to have such good friends like them. We had a lot of fun talking to people and checking out all the animals and we sold all the quail we brought. We got some yummy food from an drive-in on the way home. When we got back we just relaxed and sat around a bit and the boys played with toys and napped. We decorated eggs with the boys for the first time. Wyatt did pretty good putting them in the water and waiting for them. He liked all the colors and picked out a favorite egg that was very colorful.

 Saturday night Wayne and Kev went to check out the hunting section of Walmart and Kim and I watched a Hallmark movie. It was fun to enjoy a chick flick that was totally predictable, lol!! Sunday was Easter and we did a small Easter egg hunt with the boys inside the house and Kim and Wayne had some eggs for them too. The boys also got baskets filled with mostly craft supplies and books and a few toys from grandma. Church was nice, but the boys were horrible, not sure what it was, but we had a rough one that day. We put the boys down for naps when we got home and got started cooking our ham and the rest of our yummy Easter dinner. Everyone was great to help and we got it made up early and had a great dinner!! Wyatt just loved talking to and playing with Kim and Wayne. They are both so fun and Kim knows lots of fun songs etc from Kindergarten that Wyatt liked. Whenever they left the room Wyatt wanted to know where Kim and Wayne were, lol. We had a very relaxing Sunday and watched some TV and chatted. We saw a TON of deer on the hill and then we saw a coyote come out of the trees and spook them all. It was crazy. Kevin tried to shoot it, but it was too far away. Kim and Wayne had to leave early Monday, but we had such a wonderful time catching up. They are like family and they are always welcome at our house. Our boys love them and we have such a good time together just doing nothing, lol!! Hope to see y'all soon!!
