Christmastime is Almost Here!

We have had our house decorated since a few days before Thanksgiving. Kevin even put our outside lights up. We got a real tree and slowly decorated it (well only half of it so Wyatt wouldn't pull it all off). We got our wonderful Santa cross-stitch from Farrell and hung that up along with our other decorations. I love how festive everything looks! This weekend I even made a new Christmas craft with some friends and I love it.

Wyatt got to go visit Santa at Bass Pro Shop last week. They had a great real looking Santa and it wasn't crowded at all so we got to walk right up. Wyatt just smiled and sat there looking adorable. We got a few cute pictures (they even give you a free picture) and we were done. That was easy. Kevin went hunting over Thanksgiving weekend with a friend and he shot two deer. This was huge because Kevin has had some bad luck. He either doesn't see anything, or during bow season he has shot at one but never found the deer (sad- he felt bad). It has been a few years that Kevin has been dying to kill a deer. So he finally shot two!! One was smaller so he just cut it up himself and we have some good deer roasts we can cook. The other one went to a processor where it was processed into deer burger. We have used deer meat before and we like it, this weekend we cooked one of the tenderloins. It tasted great with our soy sauce and brown sugar marinade then wrapped in bacon while cooking in the oven. How can you go wrong? Now Kevin is busy studying for his 2nd boards.

Wyatt has been growing and growing (13.5 months now). I am so glad he is done being sick. It was so awful and sad! He is one happy baby again, except he got addicted to his pacifier again while he was sick (we almost had him weaned- oh well). At least we think we have him off the bottle for good and on to sippy cups (except we still sneak a bottle in once in a while when he wakes up at 5 am so we can all get some more sleep- worth it). He is still the sweetest, cutest, and most happy baby most of the time. He still LOVES music!! We have got to get this kid in some music classes when he is old enough. He loves to dance and clap. He also tried to snap his fingers a lot too, but of course he can't do it properly, but his little attempt is pretty good. He likes to dance, and likes to laugh at mommy dancing. He loves to scream and laugh and bark at the dogs. We have decided that he speaks better "dog" than english. I think his first word was "grrrr", then "arf arf" (high pitched), he does say "dadada" a lot but he uses it for many things. A few weeks ago he said mama a few times, but he hasn't done it again. He is doing a lot of jibberish right now. He will just crawl around making weird noises that sound like baby babble. It's so cute, he is trying to communicate. He is trying to imitate more and more which is a little scary. Sometimes when we are done eating I will say "all done" and throw my hands up, sometimes he does it back. He points at the sky everytime he hears an airplane go by (there are a lot being less than a mile from the airport). Kevin started this thing where he says "I love you" and then points and Wyatt points and they touch fingers. It is the sweetest thing ever! He is obsessed with kids right now. He smiles at them and screams at them in joy. Then he wants to play. He loves it when the kids at church chase him or jump with him etc. Our friends got him a shape sorter toy and he will try it and can get some of them or we help him, but if he tries and then gets frustrated he will just take off the lid, throw it, and start putting the shapes in the bucket without the lid. Oh silly boy! He's a pretty good eater, but there are some textures he doesn't like. He will eat veggies as pureed baby food, but he has a hard time with pieces. We were having a problem with him throwing up a lot so we had to go back to softer textures and slowly give him bigger harder things. He wants to feed himself from the spoon now so I let him and does a pretty good job with applesauce/yogurt type stuff. He still loves loves his blankie! Loves to be outside! He is not walking yet, but we hope he will very soon. He is now infatuated with opening and shutting cupboards and sometimes getting things he shouldn't. He can also be a stubborn spoiled boy when he wants something, like my phone is one great example. He thinks he should be able to have it and he can get mad! He is developing so much and I think he is understanding so many more words and things around him. It's so exciting and a little sad. We love him so much and it will be exciting for him to have a baby brother and soon enough they will be able to play together. I am so nervous I won't be able to give Wyatt the attention he deserves, but we will make it work.
